Louis Rousselet Galalith Necklace – SOLD

Louis Rousselet Galalith Necklace

This 1920s – 1930s Louis Rousselet necklace is made up of Carved Galalith, (French bakelite) beads.  The carved orange beads and the carved cream beads were designed to imitate coral and ivory.  Both of these materials were very popular in the Victorian to 1930s eras.

This necklace also has patterned gold metal beads and disc spacers separating the beads. This is strung on chain which is a typical design feature of Louis Rousselet jewellery.

Louis Rousselet, I believe, developed these carved galalith (bakelite) beads which seem to be more or less exclusive to his jewellery.

Total length 24″ Main beads 3/4″ dia.
