Mazer 1940s Sterling Brooch – SOLD

Mazer 1940s Sterling Brooch – SOLD

This is a striking Mazer 1930s/1940s Sterling Brooch.  The stones are sapphire blue, red and crystal paste in round and baguette shapes.  The brooch is in a light gold in the centre where the sapphire stones are. The loops are in silver and the starbursts, alternate between the light gold and the silver. The pin is in good order and there is a roll over safety clasp.

The brooch is marked Sterling Mazer at the back, it is a substantial brooch.  It reminds me of a firework display.

The Mazer company was founded by Joseph Mazer and his brother Louis. They started producing costume jewellery  in 1927. The brothers split in the mid-1940s. Jewellery made before the split was marked MAZER.
