Millefiori Venetian Glass Beads

The beads are from Venice and were originally used as trade beads. They come in various colour ways, usually with a base colour of red, blue, green, black, orange or lilac. Some colours are rarer than others and there are different shapes i.e. round, oval or oblong. These beaded necklaces tend to be made in longer lengths as this was the preferred style in the Victorian – 1930s eras. 

The beads have been re strung on chain to ensure they are wearable today, and have a bolt ring clasp, although they could slip over the head.

Millefiori Venetian glass beads are usually quite large and can be quite heavy for some people to wear.

Total length: 40″  (i.e. 20″ drop when worn )

Main central bead measures: 1″ x 0.75″
