1950s Grey Collar Necklace – SOLD

1950s Grey Collar Necklace – SOLD

This 1950s grey collar necklace comprises of glass beads in grey pearls, aurora borealis crystal and pale blue venetian Murano aventurine beads. There are 4 rows of beads in various lengths which create a cascading waterfall effect of beads. The beads are linked together with metal connectors so is very strong.

It is a small size so needs a slender neck, it has a large push in clasp with a  grey marbled lucite panel. The necklace sits flat around the neck and although small could be lengthened by adding additional links between the beads and the clasp. It would look great with a strapless dress or top or a white cotton shirt.

Very similar design to the early French designs of Francoise Montagne. Would be a great addition to any collection.

Size: The shortest row is 15 1/2″ long, the 4th row is 18″, Oval clasp is 1 1/4″ x 1″ The centre drop length = 3 3/4″

Condition: Good vintage – no chips or cracks to the glass beads – slight rubbing to some of the grey pearls mainly at the back of the necklace.

Date: 1950s – 1960s
